Testimonials
Individual and Corporate Appreciation of Jill Alexander's Services
| "How can we thank you for the delightful, colourful, beautiful wall mural?! Everyone who sees it is blown away by the detail and enchanting characters! It looks awesome!"
Brenda Reisch, Children at Risk.

| "We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful mural you created at the Children's Welcome centre. The mural adds colour and life to the centre and brightens everyone's day. The children love the animals and especially the balloons. The wall was boring and lifeless, now it has changed the whole dynamic of the room."
The Board of Directors for the Welcome Centre.

| Jill Alexander is an insightful and dedicated artist. When having recently viewed her festival tulip, I was struck by the detailing and artistic licence that she took with this unusual shaped piece. She was able to interpret the past and present life on the Ottawa River. Jill was able to express her feelings and artistic abilities on this tulip, painting it as 2 seperate paintings. Her work literally grabbed me, and forced me to take a closer look.
I was moved by the artistry and detailing, knowing right then and there that it must be bought in honour of a recent passed friend. Ron's Tulip named after former councillor Ron Kolbus is now sitting in the building that was named in his honour. It was an honour to have found Jill Alexander and her work, clearly she was able to reach her audience with her attentive detailing and formative skills.

| (Excerpt from a letter of recommendation) Jill is as enthusiastic as she is talented about her art of painting furniture and walls. I also find her sense of humour comes through in her art, a humour that adds an edge to home decor and an edge that would be a welcome addition to Ottawa.
(Excerpt from article in Ottawa Citizen, Mar. 3, 2001 - Wild Woman With A Brush) She is an artist who hates to follow rules and always adds details upon details. Each piece of fruit (Festive Fruit Table) is so realistic you can taste the sweet juice.

| What started off as a one wall mural for my children to express their love of hockey grew into an entire room that looks like our own personal arena. Her sense of humor certainly came out from the drawings of the goofy fans in the stands to incorporating my family members, including my dog Sly, into the wall. We have the most popular basement in the neighborhood.

| A quote from Centretown News, Dec. 2, 2007
"Jill Alexander has been a member with the artist-run gallery for the past 3 years. She has the ability to connect with the viewer which is really important" says Sametz, "Jill's got an individual and unique colour sense." "Jill's a strong storyteller, so obviously that's one reason the audience gravitates toward her work" says Sametz.
Terry Sametz, President of the Foyer Gallery |
| "Jill Alexander's work is of three main types: cityscapes, sporting scenes and the third one consists of totally subjective imagery that is personal in nature. All of the latter are marked by great beauty and a wonderful and inventive interplay of colors. All are uplifting in nature and are also essentially timeless because of their themes which have always been and will continue to be with us, namely hope and positivism. These are fine works and need to be promoted more widely than can be offered by the galleries available to her now.
